During a normal check at Lamezia Terme, hip hop rapper and legend Snoop Dogg was found with $422,820 in U.S. cash.The maximum amount of cash that passengers traveling through Italy can carry without declaring it is €10,000 ($11,010.25). The rules were put in place to prevent money laundering.
According to reports,Italian Finance Police seized the sum of $205,933.
Snoop Dogg arrived the Southern part of the country earlier in the week in his private jet for a show in the village of Montepaone.
He was alleged to have told Italian Police that the money was ment to pay his band for the show in Italy and elsewhere.
He then left for London.However Italian authorities would be opening an investigation into the matter.
It is not certain if the rapper can appeal to have his money back.
